Working from anywhere: Team Trace reflect on August Anywhere

Every August Team Trace have the option to work anywhere in the world.

We catch up with Ellie, our Not-for-Profit Manager, who reflects on her time working in France as part of our August Anywhere initiative.

This was my third year embracing the flexibility of remote work during August, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to combine work and travel once again.

While I’ve spent many summers in France, this was my first time in Bordeaux — and it absolutely lived up to the hype.

Mornings started with a stroll to the local boulangerie (croissants mandatory 🥐), and evenings often ended with a glass of Bordeaux’s finest. In between, I carved out time over long weekends to explore the city’s charm, culture, and countryside.

But don’t be fooled by the scenic backdrop — this might have been my busiest August yet! It was a great reminder that working remotely doesn’t mean working less. In fact, stepping into a new environment helped me reset, reflect, and rethink how I approach working from home.
