Finance Systems Manager

An established Financial Services business with numerous entities and a matrix structure is seeking a long term contractor. This opportunity sits within between finance and IT and works as part of a small team that have expertise in their system, SAP.

The position has arisen due to the current person moving internally for a 12 month secondment. Therefore, a full handover will be provided and you will be well supported when joining.

The role title is Finance Systems Manager and will report to the Finance Director. The role works between the finance function and the technology and IT teams to deliver system requirements and future the roadmap. The position also partners with an outsourced supplier relationship.

As a senior member of the Finance Systems team you will deal with all BAU duties below and support projects for finance to maximise opportunities within the system.


Designated business owner of SAP for Finance.
Assisting with decision approval for system changes with technology
Design decision authority for the financial and organisational structures / hierarchies within SAP
Co-ordinate relevant finance teams to support user acceptance and testing requirements
Proactively undertake business, process and data analyses to research and drive enhancements
Firm governance to ensure that SAP structural integrity and scalability is maintained
Support the Finance systems strategy and roadmap
Participation in the weekly Finance Systems Governance meeting.
Manage projects with Project Management Office and Technology as the business owner
Maintain own up-to-date expertise in SAP functionality through appropriate training
Monitor performance and KPIs, quality assure standard and timely delivery of enhancement work
Skills & Experience

You must have in-depth hands on expertise and knowledge of SAP. The modules the business use are mainly: ECC FI/CO, BPC, PI, BW, SAP Analysis. You will have specialist knowledge of SAP organisational and financial (GL) structures and hierarchies, ECC workflow processes, BPC hierarchies and consolidation groups.

Stakeholder management is key and therefore you will be an excellent communicator who can work with finance staff at all levels.

Strong experience gained within a financial control function is desirable as well as experience of supplier management and working with third party consultants.

You can be a Qualified or QBE Accountant and if you have a SAP certified in any of the following it would be idea but not essential: ECC FI/CO, BPC, PI, BW, SAP Analysis for Office
