FP & A Analyst

FP&A Analyst (12m FTC), London – Higher Education, up to GBP44,000
A newly created position has been made available in a London based University. Suitable candidates will be part qualified with strong Excel skills and have experience manipulating large data sets. The role will be split between month end activities and bit costing and forecasting projects throughout the year. Ideally candidates will be available within one month, with a planned start date of early September.

Management accounts, tuition fee and budget deliverables achieved on schedule
Conclusions presented clearly and engagingly as appropriate to the audience
Process improvements and efficiencies identified

Collaborative and supportive approach with a solution focused mindset.
Responsible for preparing the monthly management accounts including liaison with finance colleagues for the latest updates, analytical reporting and preparing the first draft of any papers.
Forecasting student tuition fee income, both in year and in future years, analysing large volumes of data and working closely with the Planning and Statistics team.
Maintaining and updating the budget and forecast spreadsheets for the university, co-ordinating the collection of inputs from across the finance team, reconciling versions, updating the CFO and ADF on key movements, maintaining a detailed evidence and workings file, and preparing summary and presentational data for committees.
Analysing and improving course costings across the university.
Work closely with Finance and Planning teams to ensure that student number and tuition fee modelling requirements are delivered, including scenario modelling over a number of years.
Analysis of high volumes of student data and delivery of key insights.
Reconciliation of complex data sets
Construction of scenario-based forecasts

Key Skills & Qualifications:
Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
Experience in a month end/analyst position
Understanding of financial modelling and strong Excel skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Solutions focussed with good initiative
Immediately available/up to 1 month notice period
