Commercial Analyst

Commercial Finance Analyst, Advertising Agency, Paying up to GBP35k

We are recruiting a really exciting role for an Analyst to join the Commercial team at one of the most prestigious Advertising agencies. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a fast paced, dynamic and exciting environment.

Role Summary:

In this role, you will be acting as a finance business partner to the Account Management team and supporting the Commercial Finance Managers, Director and Management with all commercial aspects of specific client P&Ls across all our discipline offerings.

You will be part of the Commercial Finance Team and allocated a portfolio of clients across the business (local and /or multinational clients) to:

– provide objective analysis and interpretation of financial data to support decision making process and setting targets;
– manage the profitability of the client account;
– identify and manage risks and opportunities, driving business improvements and process improvements;
– comply with internal and external reporting requirements; and
– Ad hoc projects

Specific Accountabilities:

Reporting and Quarterly Forecasting:

Monthly revenue reporting in compliance with accounting standards and client contractual obligations and analysis of variance to forecast
Quarterly forecasting and reporting of revenue and client profitability
Work with the Business Directors for each client account on establishing forecast variances

Planning and Budgeting:

Provide supporting analysis to support Business directors for budget reviews
Work with the Business Directors for each client account on establishing budget variances
Ensure that you are the key day to day liaison person for the account team

Commercial Management:

Lead/Support in fee negotiations; construct staffing plans, fee proposals, reconciliations and contractual matters (where appropriate);
Support and work closely with the Account Management and Project Management Teams on project fees that are being produced, and all commercial finance matters to include but not limited to job profitability, client profitability, supplier contracts and rate cards
Streamlining commercial reporting provided to the non-finance teams
Identifying business risks and opportunities
Understand and review / liaise with client teams on all aspects of the client P&L including T&E and client investment.
Liaise with regional markets as required to collate and provide supporting analysis to regional

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential criteria:

Highly numerate and accurate graduate
Part qualified ACA / CIMA /ACCA or equivalent or qualified by experience
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to identify risk and opportunities
Resourceful, energetic, self-motivating and flexible
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including ability to work across different cultures
Strong presentational skills and ability to communicate effectively to a wide audience
Agency (or similar) experience
Good PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
