FP&A Manager

FPA Manager, Education Sector, 6m FTC, South East London, up to GBP55k + bens
We are working with a key London higher education institution that is seeking an experienced FP&A accountant to join their finance function. Initially for a 6 month period, with the possibility for it turning into a permanent placement. This Financial Planning and Analysis role will play a key part in delivering the work of the Management Accounting team, in particular the student number and fee analysis, the management accounts reporting, and the budget process.

Responsibilities include:
Analysis of high volumes of student data and delivery of key insights
Leading on forecasting student tuition fee income, both in year and in future years, analysing large volumes of data and working closely with the Planning and Statistics team
Maintaining and updating the budget and forecast spreadsheets for the university, co-ordinating the collection of inputs from across the finance team, reconciling versions, updating the CFO and ADF on key movements, maintaining a detailed evidence and workings file, and preparing summary and presentational data for committees
Work closely with Finance and Planning teams to ensure that student number and tuition fee modelling requirements are delivered, including scenario modelling over a number of years
Responsible for preparing the monthly management accounts including liaison with finance colleagues for the latest updates, analytical reporting and preparing the first draft of any papers alongside the Finance Business Partners.
Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels, to include the ability to summarise and present information effectively, writing clear reports, and designing effective outputs
Reconciliation of complex data sets
Construction of scenario-based forecasts

Key Skills & Qualifications:
· CIMA/ ACCA / ACA qualified accountant
· Experience of regular collaboration with colleagues from outside the immediate finance team
· Several years experience of analysing complex data in Excel
· Experience manipulating large data sets and highlighting key information
· Comprehensive understanding of financial modelling
· Good analytical and technical skills as well as excellent attention to detail
· Experience and/or knowledge of the Higher Education sector
· Continuous improvement mindset, suggesting and implementing improvements to systems and processes
· Ability to work with/alongside non-finance professionals
